The Municipality of Bishkek has received investment grants of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) regarding the construction of a new EU-compliant sanitary landfill and the investment in the refuse collection infrastructure.

The Bishkek Solid Waste Project supports the overall improvement of public health of the city's residents, a keystone for development and poverty reduction. The aim of the project is to support the City of Bishkek in expanding and improving its solid waste disposal infrastructure.
